The thing I was soooo impressed with was the quick and efficient way I received this item all the way to Auckland New Zealand in just 5 days, I ordered an item from a local shop 10 days ago and I'm still waiting. This is the response I got from my 17yr old muso Grandson after he had this zoom H2 to assess for a couple of weeks. He says its good not only for their band jam sessions but especially for recording ideas when he has them so as not to forget them. Great item and service. Thank you.
Of all the gimmicks that I own, this is one of the best in both its features and its usefulness. Unlike the standard tape or digital voice recorders, this device allows recording live music (wherever it is not prohibited) with CD quality. My wife sings in a choir and I recorded their latest concert; my recording rivals the one done with suspended microphones and several thousand dollars worth of electronics.Loaded with extra features to reformat the music and allowing the recording from external sources, I love this device.
This is a great product. I use it to record during my music and piano classes and church sermons. The unique four-microphone system catches the sound from all directions.
As a speaker and also a musician, I wanted a digital recorder that would give me the best possible recording and still be portable enough to go inside my briefcase or my instrument case. Thanks Amazon. I read the owner's manual (recommended) and I was up and making a recording right away.
When I needed a new recorder for the classes I teach and I had several people sign up for correspondance lessons, I knew it was time to upgrade from my old tape machine (sigh, yes.really old). It was no problem at all to provide both and I'm delighted at the quality. I'd read about the Zoom H2 on the clarinet pages (a bulletin board for clarinet players) and everyone seemed to have positive results and praised it highly.
Some of my students can get the lessons from an mp3 file that I email to them, and others want a CD. I was hesitant because I thought this looked too complicated for me to use. It was not.
Amazon had it to me right away at a fantastic price. I highly recommend this item.
The H2 does a wonderful job of recording. You could hear all the parts and it also picked up the ambience of the space. I set it up between a keyboard and a choir, set it on 4 channel surround and auto record level. The results were super clear and crisp. People who listened to the recording couldn't believe the result. The comment was made that maybe we don't need to go back to the recording studio to finish our CD.
